About Farm Credit Southeast Missouri
Farm Credit Southeast Missouri is part of the national Farm Credit System, which was created to provide American farmers with dependable credit from people they can trust.
Farm Credit Southeast Missouri began a long history as "your ag lender" in Southeast Missouri back in 1917, with the establishment of the Farm Credit Loan Act of 1916. After the Farm Credit Act of 1933, there were several PCAs in our current trade area that, over the years, consolidated to achieve greater efficiencies. In 1992, the remaining two PCAs (Caruthersville PCA and the Sikeston PCA) merged to form PCA of Southeast Missouri. At the same time, this newly consolidated PCA entered into a Joint Management Agreement with the FLCA of Southeast Missouri. Under joint management, each association maintained their own Board of Directors and separate stock ownership; however, they shared a single senior leadership team and shared branch employees, as well.
In 2001, the Production Credit Association of Southeast Missouri and the Federal Land Credit Association of Southeast Missouri, having been under joint management since 1992, merged to form an Agricultural Credit Association (ACA) with PCA and FLCA subsidiaries. They also adopted a new name: Progressive Farm Credit Services.
In 2017, we undertook a serious, in-depth look at our association brand and effective January 1, 2018, we became Farm Credit Southeast Missouri. “Farm Credit” is upfront in our name, because that is the primary emphasis. As a separate and distinct legal entity from other associations, we must have a unique identifier in our legal name. We elected to make that identifier “Southeast Missouri”. It is simple. It puts stakes in the ground that we are independent and that this is where we are.
Based in the heart of America, Farm Credit Southeast Missouri serves farming communities in Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard and Wayne Counties in Southeast Missouri.
